You want to graphically compare two 1d spectra in ASCII format (xyz.dat, 2 columns with float numbers, overwritten with WAVE and FLUX). Then use the script comparison_plot_2spectra_ascii.py (download here).
It plots two spectra, which are available as tab-separated ASCII files, on top of each other and saves the plot as PNG and PDF.
