About Me

My name is Lothar Schanne, living in Mannheim, Germany.

Since 2004 I am engaged in optical astronomical spectroscopy. Until 2013 I also had my own observatory with a 14″-Schmidt-Cassegrin-Telescope and a Lhires III-spectrograph equipped with a cooled KAF1602E-CCD-Camera.

With this website I would like to pass on my experiences and knowledge.

  1. Dear Mr Schanne, dear Lothar, just by chance I found your very interesting web-site about astro-spectroscopy. Since some time I am also digging in Echelle spectra, and in the near future I would like to build my own one. Therefore I found your book very interesting and wonder where I can still buy it. Have a nice evening, best regards, Stefan
